Manufacturers for New & Used Tires

So I know we all want to know more about the different tires and tire manufacturers that we have on our car, so here it is: the most basic information that you can possibly get.

- Bridgestone Used Tires & New Tires : They were founded in 1931 by a guy named Shojiro Ishibashi in Kurume, Fukuoka, Japan. The name comes from the translation of the word ishibashi; it means “stone bridge” in Japanese. So as you can obviously tell, they just switched the words. Bridgestone Used Tires & New Tires is ranked No. 2 on the new & used tires manufacturer list across the world.

- Continental Used Tires & New Tires : Continental Used Tires is frequently called “Conti” for short. They are the worldwide producer of new & used tires, brake systems, and even tachographs .. whatever purpose those things serve. Continental Used Tires & New Tires is based in Hanover, Germany; which almost sounds like the word “hangover” if you ask me. They are the world’s fourth largest manufacturer after Bridgestone (obviously). It was first founded in 1871 as a rubber manufacturer.

- Goodyear Used Tires & New Tires : The original name is The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and it was first founded in 1898 by a man named Frank Seiberling. Goodyear not only makes new & used tires for car, but they produce tires for things like commercial trucks, SUV's, light trucks, airplanes, race cars, and even heavy earth-mover machinery. The reason why they’re so famous is because of the blimp that they have & the one that you see everywhere. It first flew in 1925 and as of now, it’s the most recognizable advertising icons in America - ever.

- Hankook Used Tires & New Tires : This company is based in Seoul, South Korea and is the seventh largest tire company in the world. When they were first established in 1941, they were known as the Chosun Tire Company; they were renamed Hankook Tire Manufacturing in 1968. They are pretty well-known throughout the industry because of their radial new & used tires and their bias-ply tire production. As of now, the company is supplying new & used tires for companies like Hyundai, Toyota, and even Ford. As well as manufacturing about 50 million tires each year, they also sell batteries, brake pads, and even alloy rims.

- Michelin Used Tires & New Tires : They’re based Clermont-Ferrand; it’s located in the Auvergne région of France. Along with Bridgestone New & Used Tires, it is one of the two biggest tire manufacturers in the world. Not only does Michelin own Michelin (if that makes any sense), but they also own BFGoodrich, Taurus, Kormoran, and even Uniroyal. They are most known for their Red and Green travel guides, their roadmaps, and their “oh so” lovable and huggable company mascot - who is known as the Michelin Man.

- Yokohama Used Tires & New Tires : There’s not really much to say about Yokohama. It’s a tire company that’s based in Tokyo, Japan. The company was both founded and started in 1917. In 1969, the company had expanded to the United States as the Yokohama Tire Corporation. Yokohama Used Tires & New Tires is the official tire supplier of a little something called the World Touring Car Championship. They have also been the official tire supplier of something called the Macau Grand Prix Formula 3 Intercontinental Cup race since 1983.
